Restorative Yoga completely omits the active part of all other forms of yoga. Here it is all about complete relaxation, allowing the body to restore itself on every possible level. You seek the silence within yourself and feel what there is to feel. Relaxation is not only necessary after an operation or injury, for example, but also after a period of mental overload. In fact, just like sufficient sleep, the relaxation that Restorative Yoga evokes can prevent many problems. The more relaxed our physical body is, the easier our life energy can flow, the more resistant we are to everything that comes our way, and the faster our body recovers. Restorative Yoga makes use of many props and the poses are held even longer than in Yin Yoga, 15 to 20 minutes.
